William J. Madison

William J. Madison, 72, of Dolgeville, New York, and formerly of Newport, NY, passed away on Sunday, May 25, 2025 at Split Rock Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in the Bronx, New York after a long illness.

He was born on February 25, 1953 in Little Falls, New York and was the son of the late, Anna P. (Madison) Youker. William was educated at Dolgeville Central School.

For 25 years, William had been married to Sally (Sidoran) Madison where they shared two children, Shaad and Alana together.

William was formerly employed as a commercial truck driver for Gehring Tricot Textile Mill in Dolgeville, New York for 12 years and as well as finishing his career at G & I Homes in Frankfort as site inspector for

Affectionately known as Billy, he was a volunteer fireman with the Dolgeville Volunteer Fire Department. He also enjoyed camping, boating, bowling, fishing and hunting. His most precious time was spent in the company of his family, friends and community.

He is survived by his son, Shaad Madison of Dolgeville, NY; his daughter, Alana Madison Evans and her husband, Jamie of Nashua, NH; grandchildren, Sam Evans, Eric Evans, Ella Evans all of Nashua, NH and Tabitha Madison of Fullerton, CA; brothers, Allen Youker of St. Johnsville, NY and Carl Youker and his wife, Linda of St. Johnsville, NY; an uncle, Zeke Madison of Dolgeville, NY; special cousins, Rick and Cathy Madison of Dolgeville, NY, Bob and Karen Madison of Denver, Colorado, Arthur Madison of Oppenheim, NY, Tim and Patricia Lynch of Herkimer, NY, Jeff and Marie Cumm of Dolgeville, NY, David Ackley and Gayle Ackley both originally from Dolgeville, NY; several extended family members.

He was predeceased by his mother, Anna P. (Madison) Youker; a sister, Linda Youker; and a sister-in-law, Sharon Youker.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, May 30, 2025 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at locally owned and family operated, Miller-Plonka Funeral Home, 30 Wolf Street, Dolgeville, New York 13329, Cremations and Funerals. A private graveside service will be in Stratford Cemetery where he will be buried with his family members.
