Victor M. Cruz Santana Obituary

Victor M. Cruz Santana, 49, of Oppenheim, New York and formerly of Puerto Rico, passed away unexpectedly at his home with his loving family by his side.

He was born on August 20, 1971 in Penuelas, Puerto Rico and was the son of Victor Cruz and late, Juana (Santana). He was educated at schools in Puerto Rico.

On February 14, 2004, Victor was united in marriage to Nelyza S. Garcia in Penuelas, Puerto Rico. The couple shared a blessed union of nearly 20 years and raised their six children together.

While living in Puerto Rico, Victor owned and operated a bakery with is wife. Prior to the bakery he was employed as a security guard for several companies also in Puerto Rico. Victor, his wife and youngest son, moved to the Oppenheim area after their home was destroyed by an earthquake.

Victor was of the Catholic faith. In his spare time he enjoyed cooking and baking for his family. He will be dearly missed by his family.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Nelyza S. Garcia of Oppenheim, NY; his father, Victor Cruz of Puerto Rico; children, Victor E. Rosario of Oppenheim, NY, Nelysabel Rosario and her husband, Jose Alberto Ortiz, Victor M. Rosario, Victor J. Cruz, Kermith X. Cruz, Kervin X. Cruz, and Jose M. Cruz, a nephew who was a son to Victor; all of Puerto Rico; his brothers, Jose L. Cruz of Florida, Victor A. Cruz of Puerto Rico; two sisters, Yahaira Cruz of Rochester, NY and Magalis Cruz of Rochester, NY; two cherished grandchildren, Josnell Jahir Otiz Rosario and Lenalee Cruz; his nieces and nephews, Noriel Cruz, Roniel Cruz, Joniel Cruz, Yahaira M. Perez; loved family friend, Devin Radigan of Oppenheim, NY; and a fur baby Hashi.
