Timothy A. Rockwell, 75, of Dolgeville, New York, passed away peacefully on Friday night, February 14, 2026 at Foltsbrook Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Herkimer, New York.
He was born on August 19, 1950 in Little Falls, New York and was the son of the late, Herbert and Dorothy (Boyer) Rockwell. Tim was educated at Oppenheim-Ephratah Central School in earlier years, attended Dolgeville Central School and then graduated from Ilion High School with the Class of 1970.
Shortly after graduation, Tim enlisted in the United States Navy in 1970, serving his country for two years until 1972 when he received an honorable medical discharge. He was very proud to be a veteran.
At one time, he was married to Nancy Smith.
He was a member of the United Lutheran and Presbyterian Church in Dolgeville, New York.
In younger years, Tim worked for Hale Manufacturing as a night watch security for the factory for many years until 2000 when he retired.
Tim was a member of the Violet Festival Committee, Dolgeville Manheim Historical Society, and an original member of MOVAC from 1979 where he served the area as a volunteer for over 25 years. In his spare time, he enjoyed camping, playing guitar and all outdoor activities.
An active member of the community, Tim could also be seen walking his favorite dog, Buster to Stewarts for a cup of coffee and talking with his friends. He will be deeply missed by all who knew Tim.
He is survived by his sister, Gloria Rockwell Martin and her companion, Skip Avery of Dolgeville, New York and a brother, Douglas Rockwell and his wife, Donna of Dolgeville, NY; several nieces and nephews, great nieces and great-nephews; and a step-son, Albert Smith and his wife, Leona and their children, Zachary Smith and Franklin Smith all of Ilion, NY; and many friends from his previous residence at Parkside Courts in Dolgeville, NY.
Tim was predeceased by a niece, Sharie Telgheder; and his best friend, Buster.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, February 19, 2025 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Miller-Plonka Funeral Home, 30 Wolf Street, Dolgeville, New York 13329, Cremations and Funerals. A funeral service will be held immediately following at 4 p.m. also at the funeral home. A spring burial will be held at Mountainview Memorial Gardens on Shells Bush Road, Little Falls, New York in the spring at a date and time to be announced. Member of the United States Navy Honor Guard will accord Tim his funeral honors.
