Teresa G. Brent

Teresa G. Brent, 69, of Salisbury Center, New York, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 18, 2025 at Bassett Healthcare in Cooperstown, New York. At the time of her passing, she had the love and support of her husband and children, as well as her sister, brother-in-law and his wife by her side.

She was born on July 25, 1956 in Cortland, New York and was the daughter of the late, Ronald and Pauline (Caldwell) Hall. Teresa attended Cortland Sr. High School and graduated with the Class of 1974.

On November 16, 1974, Teresa was united in marriage to Robert Brent at the Free Methodist Church in Cortland, New York. The couple shared a loving marriage of 51 years and raised their three children in a loving home.

Teresa was currently employed as the office manager for Dolgeville Family Medicine under the direction of Dr. Douglas Haas and they worked together for 35 years. For decades, she poured her heart into serving others at Dolgeville Family Medicine. Her colleagues and patients became an extension of her family, and it brought her great joy to care for others in her quiet, steady, and compassionate way. She was known among patients for saying, “I can fit you in somewhere,” and she always found a way to make it work.

She was a member of the Full Gospel Assembly of God Church in Salisbury Center, New York and spent many years alongside her husband, Robert Brent, sharing the Word of the Lord. Her church community was also a source of strength and belonging. Teresa loved the Lord deeply, and her family takes great comfort in knowing she is now in the presence of the One she loved most.

In her spare time, she enjoyed reading and watching movies. Teresa’s world revolved around her family, work, and her church. She was an extraordinary mother, grandmother, and wife - devoted, loyal, and a fierce defender of the people she loved. A quiet and humble woman, she was a cherished wife, mother, and grandmother who will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and community.

Teresa is survived by her beloved husband, Pastor Robert Brent at home; children, Meghan Brent of Fuquay-Varina, NC, Joshua Brent and his wife, Jennifer of Emerald Isle, NC and Abigail Brent of Onondaga, NY; grandchildren, Jackson Brent and Jordyn Brent, both of Emerald Isle, NC; a sister, Janice Shear and her husband, Bill of Apalachin, NY; brothers-in-law, Dominic and his wife, Barb Brent of Oneonta, NY and John Brent of Albany, NY; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was predeceased by her brother, Elwin R. Hall in 1984 and his wife, Eleanor Nelson in 2021.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, November 24, 2025 at  6 p.m. at the Full Gospel Assembly of God church in Salisbury Center, New York with Pastor Mark Hediger officiating.
