Tammy L. Tennant Obituary

Tammy Tennant, 55, of Dolgeville, New York, passed away peacefully early Sunday evening, May 26, 2024 at the Grande Rehabilitation and Nursing in Ilion, New York.

She was born on December 30, 1968 in Little Falls, NY and is the daughter of Grant “Bosco” Knapp and the late, Elaine (Bulluck) Lamphere. Tammy was educated at Dolgeville Central School.

On August 22, 1997, Tammy was united in marriage to Ryan P. Tennant in Oppenheim, New York. The couple shared a loving and inseparable 16 year marriage until Ryan passed away unexpectedly on October 6, 2013, at the age of 42.

In younger years, Tammy worked for Daniel Green Shoe Company in Dolgeville for many years. In addition to that, she worked at Folts Home in Herkimer as well.

Tammy had a way to light up a room with her humor and infectious smile. Together, Ryan and Tammy enjoyed fishing, camping, having cookouts, swimming, having family get togethers, loved Chinese auctions, bingo, playing cards, music, singing, their membership with the Dolgeville Rod and Gun Club, and her cherished pets throughout the years. Tammy was a very avid animal lover and caring for them was of utmost importance to her. Family was everything to her and loved her nieces and nephews dearly.

Although it is hard to lose Tammy, we are confident that Ryan and Tammy are back together again and we will see them again someday.

She is survived by her father, Grant “Bosco” Knapp, Sr. of Oppenheim, NY; a sister, Violet Bienkowski and her husband, Bernard Bienkowski of Town of Manheim, NY; a brother, Grant “Brent” Knapp Nottingham and his husband, Paul Nottingham of Altamonte Springs, FL; a brother, Shawn Knapp and his wife, Holly of Herkimer, NY; nieces and nephew, Raelyn Knapp and her companion, Bill McCumber, and Genesis Knapp; nephews, Justan Knapp and Blake Knapp; great-nieces, Saydee Knapp and Madison Knapp and their mother, Melissa Cummings and Emberlee McCumber; great-nephew Weston McCumber; several aunts, uncles and cousins.

She was predeceased by her husband, Ryan Tennant, mother, Elaine (Bulluck) Lamphere; grandmother, Violet Mae Bulluck; her in-laws, Vaughn and Patricia Tennant; and cousin, Amy Brys.

Burial will be in Stratford Cemetery where she will be laid to rest with her beloved husband, Ryan. The family is being cared for by locally owned and family operated, Miller-Plonka Funeral Home, 30 Wolf Street, Dolgeville, New York, Cremations and Funerals.

The family would like to thank the Grande in Ilion, NY and Wynn Hospital in Utica, NY for their care and comfort for Tammy in her final days.
