Sandra S. Hoyle, 75, of the Town of Manheim, New York, passed away on Sunday, May 19, 2024 at Valley Health Services in Herkimer, New York after a long battle with diabetes.
She was born on March 7, 1949 in Little Falls, New York and was the daughter of the late, Burton Youker and the late, George and Florence (Looman) Whitford. Sandy was educated at Dolgeville Central School and graduated with the Class of 1967.
Upon graduation, Sandy attended SUNY Cobleskill where she majored in Nursery Education and Secretarial Science. She also attended BOCES as well as earning an Associates Degree in Applied Sciences in Data Processing from Herkimer County Community College.
On April 10, 1971, Sandy was united in marriage to James H. Hoyle at the Dolgeville United Methodist Church in Dolgeville, New York. The couple shared a union of 40 years until Mr. Hoyle passed away on September 18, 2011.
Sandra worked for many years as a legal secretary for several law firms. Her final employment was with Lexington Center-Stahl Road as an Awake Night Coordinator. She was with Lexington for 17 years until her retirement in 2015.
In earlier years, Sandy enjoyed canoeing, camping, fishing, watching television, drinking coffee and the company of her two cats, Dusty and Angel. Sandy and her husband, Jim also participated in many fishing derbies in the Herkimer area throughout their years together. A loving wife, mother and friend, Sandy will be missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her two sons, Andrew J. Hoyle Colorado Springs, CO and Daniel R. Hoyle, of Fort Meyers, FL; daughter, Sarah Hoyle of Herkimer, NY; and her best friend and caregiver, Barbara Herringshaw and her companion, Dale Hartman of the Town of Manheim, NY; several extended family members.
Sandy was predeceased by her beloved daughter, Mary R. Hoyle in 2011 and an infant sister, Linda Jean Whitford.
Funeral services for Sandy will be held at a date and time to be announced in the Fall of 2024. The Hoyle Family is being cared for by locally owned and family operated, Miller-Plonka Funeral Home, 30 Wolf Street, Dolgeville, New York, Cremations and Funerals.
