Sandra B. Ortlieb Obituary

Sandra B. Ortlieb, 84, of Dolgeville, New York passed away peacefully on Saturday afternoon, September 4, 2021, in the comfort of her own home with her loving family by her side.

She was born on June 6, 1937 in Dolgeville, New York and was the daughter of the late, Raymond and Ethel (Bellinger) Darling. Sandy was educated at Dolgeville Central School and graduated with the Class of 1957.

On June 21, 1957, Sandy was united in marriage to Edward H. Ortlieb at the Dolgeville United Methodist Church. The couple were blessed with 61 years together where they raised their three children in a loving home. Edward  passed away on August 4, 2019.

Sandy was formerly employed by Daniel Green Shoe Company in Dolgeville, New York for many years with various positions within the company until her retirement.

She was a member of the Dolgeville United Methodist Church and the Red Hat Society. Sandy also enjoyed baking;  especially her homemade donuts, camping, bowling, playing Solitaire on her iPod, Bingo, Yahtzee,  going shopping, going out for ice cream;  and taking care of her fur babies. Her most precious time was spent in the company of her family especially caring for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren throughout the years. A loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend, Sandy will be deeply missed by all who knew her and her kind, giving heart.

Sandy is survived by her two beloved daughters, Lyne Roglieri and her husband, John of Windsor, NY and Tammy Broat and her husband, Jeff of Dolgeville, NY; special grandchildren, Kara Kapler and her companion, Joe Cowles of Dolgeville, NY, Saverio Roglieri and his companion, Melissa Johnson of Syracuse, NY, Nina Roglieri of Binghamton, NY and Jade Broat and her companion, Ryan Simpson of  Herkimer , NY; cherished great-grandchildren, Ruby Kibicho, Jayden Burgos, and Adrian Burgos; a brother and sister in law, Gordy and Edythe Darling of Dolgeville, NY; brother in law, Harold Lacek of Dolgeville, NY; sister in law, Monica Ortlieb of Newport, NY; her very special fur babies, her dogs, Dixie and Daphne; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was predeceased by beloved family members, her husband, Edward H. Ortlieb; son, Donald Ortlieb; grandsons, Darrin Looman and Jeffery Broat; two brothers and sisters in law, Bruce and Ruth Darling; Little Falls, NY;  Gary and Barbara Darling, Little Falls, NY; brother in law, Richard Ortlieb, Dolgeville NY ; and a sister in law, Annabelle Lacek, Dolgeville, NY.

Also, a very special thank you to Catherine Mosher, her special aide,  and Hospice for all the loving care both provided to Sandra.

Family and relatives are invited to a graveside visitation on Saturday, September 25, 2021 from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. (noon) at Rural Park Cemetery, Cemetery Road, (Ingham’s Mills), Little Falls, New York. A memorial service and committal service will immediately follow the visitation at 12:00 p.m. with Pastor Anthony Bradseth officiating, where she will be laid to rest with her husband, son and grandsons. All visitors attending are asked to please wear a mask to the services.

The family is being cared for by Roberts Funeral Home, 3 East Faville Avenue, Dolgeville, New York 13329.

In lieu of floral offerings, consider memorial contributions for Hospice and Palliative Care, 4277 Middle Settlement Road, New Hartford, New York 13413 and please note, "In Memory of Sandra B. Ortlieb" in the memo in order to properly acknowledge the donation.
