Robert L. Daley, Sr.

Robert L. Daley, Sr., 67, of Salisbury, New York, passed away peacefully on Tuesday night, October 8, 2024 in the comfort of his home with his loving family by his side.

He was born on November 17, 1956 in Little Falls, New York and was the son of the late, Robert and Patricia (Moore) Daley and as a twin brother of Rodney Daley.

Robert was educated at Stratford Central School and Dolgeville Central School. He worked the majority of his life in construction as well as being a self-employed logger in the Salisbury, New York area.

On August 26, 2007, Robert was united in marriage to Lorraine D. Daley in Salisbury Center, New York. The couple shared a blended family and union of 14 years when Lorry passed away on November 9, 2021.

Robert was a member of the Dolgeville Rod and Gun Club and the Salisbury Ridgerunners Snowmobile Club. He was a man of many talents that could fix of cob anything. Robert enjoyed fishing, snowmobiling, ATV riding, and trading anything and everything. His most important role was being a husband, father and Papa. His family and friends will miss his little saying and his humorous personality. “It was never a goodbye, it’s always: ‘Merry Christmas and Happy New Year’.”

He is survived by his children, Robert L. Daley, Jr. and his wife, Kim, Hope (Daley) Winkler and her husband, Jason, Josh Daley and his wife, Stephanie, Isaiah Grassel and his companion, Felicity and Miranda Grassel; step-children, Wendy Daley and her husband, Paul, James Grassel and his companion, Veronica White, Bobbie Jo Getman and Lisa Randall and her husband, Clinton; grandchildren Steven Smith, Ethan Winkler, Cassidy Winkler, Cheyenne Daley, Faith Daley, Alexis Daley, Delyla Daley, Destiny Daley, Kacy Daley, Amber Grant, Ashey Siver, Jazzlyn Grassel, James Grassel, Kyle Getman, CJ Randall, Gracey Randall, Everlee Randall, Colton Randall, Alannah Grassel, Syncere Jenkins, and RaMiyah Grassel; 14 great-grandchildren; his special twin brother, Rodney Daley and his wife, Pamela, Betty Jean Cool and her husband, Marc, Tammy Hill, Gerold Hill, Jr. and his wife, Cheryl and Todd Hill; the mother of Robert’s children, Betty Lou Daley; his beloved pug, Penny who brought endless love to Robert; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and extended family.

Robert was predeceased by his father, Robert L. Daley; mother, Patricia (Moore) Daley Hill, his step-father, Gerold Hill, Sr., wife, Lorraine Daley, and a brother, Scott Hill.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday evening, October 18, 2024 at 5 p.m. at the Dolgeville Rod and Gun Club, 697 Peckville Road, Dolgeville, New York 13329. All are welcome to attend.
