It is with a deep sadness, we announce the unexpected passing of Robert “Boomer” S. Murray, 55, a life-long resident of Little Falls, New York, Friday, September 20, 2024 at his home.
He was born on May 15, 1969 in Little Falls, New York and was the son of the late, Walter and Barbara (Moshier) Murray. Boomer was educated at Little Falls High School and graduated with the Class of 1987.
In his younger years, Boomer was an avid dirt bike rider where he participated in many motorcross races until a terrible accident almost claimed his life. After his long recovery from the accident, it limited his abilities, however, it did not stop him from helping others with their endeavors. Over the last 30 years, Boomer assisted his friend Chris Anderson at Valley Cinema, and the late, Carl Woolver at Carl’s Citgo Service Station with the crew, and helping his long-time friend, Larry Peruzzi with his restaurant and bar businesses.
Boomer was a huge music lover and found great joy in traveling all over the state and country to attended concerts of all genres with his brother, Little Boomer and his amazing network of friends. He was a true NY Yankees and Buffalo Bills fan where he would attend their games whenever he could. To say Boomer was a dedicated snowmobiler would be an understatement. He could not wait for winter to arrive and would pray for snow every chance he could to get out on the trails and enjoy the sled life. Boomer liked golfing but had a love hate relationship with the sport. In summers, he liked to relax in the comfort of Ives Hallow in Salisbury with friends.
A true friend, Boomer helped his friends and family near and far. Whenever anyone called, he would be there to assist anyway he could. A brother, uncle, nephew and the most amazing friend anyone could ask for, Boomer will be deeply missed by all who’s life he touched.
He is survived by his brother, Ryan “Little Boomer” Murray; a half-brother, Roger “Skip” McCumber; an aunt, Carol “Punky” Carter; several nephews and cousins; and many, many dear friends who were family to Boomer, who are too countless to name, but you know who you are.
Boomer’s family and friends will host a Celebration of Life Reception on Sunday, October 13, 2024 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Dolgeville Rod and Gun Club, 697 Peckville Rd., Dolgeville, NY 13329. All are welcome to attend to share in friendship, music and love for our dear brother and friend, Boomer.
The family is being cared for by locally owned and family operated, Miller-Plonka Funeral Home, 30 Wolf Street, Dolgeville, New York 13329 and by Little Boomer’s life-long friend, Jeremiah Nash, Funeral Director.
Ryan would like to thank Little Falls Police and Fire Departments and Coroner Kevin Enea for their professionalism and compassion as well as a huge thank you to all of Boomer’s family and friends for their support during this difficult time.
