Robert E. Morse, Sr. 

July 25, 1941 – June 29, 2025 (age 83) 

Robert (Bob) E. Morse, Sr., age 83, of Stratford, New York, passed away peacefully on Sunday night, June 29, 2025, at Albany Medical Center ICU, surrounded by his loving family. 

Bob was born on July 25, 1941, in Cooperstown, New York and was the son of the late, Earl and Marie (Sargent) Morse. He was educated at Little Falls School and was raised in Little Falls, New York. 

Bob was formerly employed by Adirondack Rawlings in Dolgeville, New York as a saw operator making baseball bats. He retired in 2007 after approximately 48 years of work. Prior to that, he worked for the railroad and for Snyder’s bicycle factory in Little Falls. 

Additionally, Bob loved performing country music, which he had done for over 50 years. Bob was loved by many and showed generosity by donating his time to raise money for multiple fundraising benefits. He also loved playing at nursing homes and getting to know their residents.  

While performing, Bob met his future wife and loving partner of 43 years, June (Nichols) Morse. They were wed on September 4, 1999, shared 26 years of marriage, and were rarely seen without each other. 

At one time, Bob was formerly married to Sarah E. (Peet) Morse who was the mother of his three oldest children. She passed away on March 6, 2013. 

He also loved playing music and singing at home in his spare time. He also was physically active most of his life, whether he was working on cars, splitting wood, or many other activities. Bob Morse was loved and cared for by many people. He was outgoing and kind to anyone he met. He was always quick to make a joke or play a prank. His positive energy lit up the lives of everyone around him. He will be dearly missed by both family and friends. 

Bob is survived by his loving wife and soulmate, June (Nichols) Morse, and his beloved children, Annamarie (Morse) and her husband, Bill Prosser, of Mohawk, New York; Robert E. Morse, Jr. and his wife, Jeanmarie (Miglionico), of Sgt. Bluff, Iowa; and Amanda (Morse) and her husband, Bryan Rosales, of Schenectady, New York. He is survived by his three grandchildren, Taylor and his wife, Quinn Morse of Fredericksburg, Virginia; Caitlyn Prosser and her fiancé, Aidan Pitas of Farmington, New York; and Cordell Prosser and his fiancée, Mary Snyder of Rome, New York, along with two great-grandsons, Liam Morse and Harrison Morse. He is also survived by his brother, Richard Morse of Virginia and his sister-in-law, Kathy Morse of Dolgeville, New York. He is also survived by his sisters-in-law, Diana (Nichols) Borst and her husband, Paul of Dolgeville, New York, and Sandra (Nichols) Dillenbeck and her husband, Chet and Dolgeville, New York; He remained close with Sarah’s family that he loved and cherished who are also survived by Bob; he also had many loved nephews, nieces, great-nephews, great-nieces, cousins and extended family. 

Along with his parents, Bob was predeceased by his infant son, Shane Morse; his siblings, David (Sonny) Morse and his wife Arlene, Mary Louise Keyser and her husband Frank, Wanda Barton and her husband John, Duane Morse, Frank Morse, and Shirley Barnett; sister-in-law, Joanne Morse; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Leland and Linda Nichols. 

In keeping with Bob’s wishes, there will be no funeral services. To celebrate Bob’s life and legacy, family and friends are invited to Salisbury Fire Department located at 2549 NY-29, Salisbury Center, NY 13454 on his birthday, July 25, 2025, at 2pm. All are welcome and encouraged to attend.

As Bob always said, “If the good Lord’s willing and the creeks don’t rise, I’ll talk to you soon.”
