Robert "Bob" A. Klatt

Robert “Bob” A. Klatt, 70, of Stratford, New York, passed away peacefully on Friday morning, May 31, 2024 at Mountain Valley Hospice in Gloversville, New York. Up until the day before he passed, Bob was being cared for at his home by his wife, Cynthia with all of her love and support.

He was born on September 24, 1953 in Bay Shore, New York and was the son of the late, Harry and Annemarie (Mulder) Klatt. Bob attended Sayville High School and graduated with the Class of 1971. He then furthered his education at Canton ATC where he earned an Associate’s in Applied Science Degree in Automotive Technology and Engineering in 1973.

On November 5, 1978, Bob was united in marriage to Cythnia Joan Perea at the Assembly of God Church in Bay Shore, New York. The couple shared a union of 45 years together and raised their son, Christopher, in a loving home.

Bob was formerly employed with King Kullen in West Islip, New York as a produce manager for 16 years.

In January of 1987, Bob and Cynthia moved to Stratford, New York and enjoyed caring for their home and property. He also enjoyed working on cars, old cars, target shooting, and woodworking. Bob was so proud of his son, Christopher and his wife, Shannon for all their accomplishments but was particularly thankful for the giving him the name of “Grandpa” and the gift of his pride and joy, his grandson, Colton, whom he cherished dearly.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Cynthia Klatt at home; his son, Christopher Klatt and his wife, Shannon of Appalachian, NY; cherished grandson, Colton Klatt; a brother, Fred Klatt of TX; several in-laws; friends; and neighbors.

In keeping with Bob’s wishes, there are no services. He is being cared for by locally owned and family operated, Miller-Plonka Funeral Home, 30 Wolf Street, Dolgeville, New York, Cremations and Funerals.
