Raulin B. Amy, 86, of Dolgeville, New York (Town of Oppenheim), passed away peacefully on Wednesday evening, December 18, 2024 at Bassett Healthcare in Cooperstown, New York.
He was born on February 18, 1938, graduated from high school and attended college. Raulin enlisted in the United States Army and received an honorable discharge.
He spent a majority of his career in law enforcement. He then worked as the superintendent for the Department of Public Works in Fort Plain, New York where he retired from. In his retirement, he worked part-time as a school bus driver for Dolgeville Central School.
Raulin shared in a partnership with Sharon E. Gilday for more than 20 years.
In his spare time, Raulin enjoyed hunting, fishing and was an avid outdoorsman. He loved animals, especially his dog, Buddy.
He is survived by his long-time partner, Sharon E. Gilday at home; and a son, Will Amy and his wife, Kelly of Ponder, TX; and two granddaughters, Gwen and Grace.
In keeping with family wishes, there will be no services. The family is being cared for by locally owned and family operated, Miller-Plonka Funeral Home, 30 Wolf Street, Dolgeville, New York, Cremations and Funerals.
