Patricia "Patti" A. Barnes Obituary

Patricia “Patti” A. Barnes, 74, of Salisbury Center, New York, passed away on Friday evening, October 15, 2021 in Albany, New York with her loving family by her side.

She was born on July 29, 1947 in Little Falls, New York and was the daughter of the late, Stephen and Jane (Shanahan) Hart. Patti attended Dolgeville Central School and graduated with the Class of 1965.

On August 28, 1965, Patti was united in marriage to Paul C. Barnes, Sr. at the Full Gospel Assembly of God in Salisbury Center, New York. The couple shared a union of 45 years where they raised their four children in a loving home. Mr. Barnes passed away on August 11, 2010.

Patti was currently employed by the office of Dr. Douglas Haas for the last 29 years as an office assistant.

She was a faithful member of the Full Gospel Assembly of God Church in Salisbury Center, New York. In addition to her faithfulness, Patti was her church secretary and treasurer and volunteered to help her church whenever it was needed.

Patti enjoyed going to all her grandchildren’s sporting events over the years as it brought her great joy. She loved her yearly trips to Florida with her daughter, Jacki. Patti also loved Black Friday shopping. Most of all she loved having her family together especially at the holidays. She made every occasion special and fun. Patti was an amazing daughter of God, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She touched so many lives and will be missed tremendously.

She is survived by her beloved children, Paul Barnes, Jr. and his wife, Christine of Salisbury Center, NY, Richard Barnes and his wife, Shannon of Dolgeville, NY, Jacqueline Barnes of Salisbury Center, NY, and Cheri Hyney and her husband, Shannon of Canajoharie, NY; special grandchildren, Jocelyn Phillips (Luke), Paul Barnes, III (Alexis), Johnny Bellinger (Catania), Michael Barnes; Chastity Barnes (Dalton), Braelyn Bellinger (Charlie), Alexis Barnes, Hunter Barnes, Derek Hyney (Ashlynn), Erin Manley (Kyle), Kirsten Hyney, Braxton Barnes, and Cody Hyney; cherished great-grandson, Lorenzo Malta; a sister, Priscilla “Pixie” Jarman and her husband, Scott of TX; a brother, Stephen Hart, Jr. and his wife, Debbie of St. Johnsville, NY; sisters-in-law, Marilyn Juba of Dolgeville, NY and Lillian Barnes of Salisbury, NY; a special cousin, Claire “Pip” Noonan; special friends, Pastor Robert and Teresa Brent, Dr. Douglas and Linda Haas; son in law, John Bellinger; nieces, nephews and several special cousins; her dog, Chloe and cat, Zoe.

Patti was predeceased by her husband, Paul C. Barnes, Sr., her parents, Stephen and Jane Hart; father and mother-in-law, Carl and Reva Barnes; brothers and sisters-in-law, Reginald Barnes, Madelyn Lawrence (Alkie Hinton), Leland Barnes, Sr. (Anna) and Stephen Juba; an infant niece, Shawna Voorhees; several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, October 20, 2021 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Miller-Plonka Funeral Home, 30 Wolf Street, Dolgeville, New York. A funeral service will be held on Thursday morning, October 21, 2021 at 11 a.m. at Full Gospel Assembly of God Church, 106 Plant Road, Salisbury Center, New York with Pastor Jimmy Foster officiating. A private graveside burial at Salisbury Rural Cemetery will be held for family and she will be laid to rest with her husband, Paul.
