Minnie L. Gardner Obituary

Minnie L. Gardner, 94, of the Town of Salisbury, New York, passed away peacefully on November 8, 2021 at Bassett Healthcare in Cooperstown, New York.

She was born on April 12, 1927 in Albany, New York and was the daughter of the late, Clark and Lottie (Deyo) Belcher. She was educated at Stratford Central School.

On July 4, 1950, Minnie was united in marriage to Milo J. Gardner in Salisbury, New York. The couple shared a loving union of nearly 49 years, when Mr. Gardner passed away on March 15, 1999.

Minnie was formerly employed as a cementer for Daniel Green Shoe Company in Dolgeville, New York for many years until her retirement in 1989.

She was a member of the Stratford United Methodist Church and the Stratford Senior Citizen’s Center. Minnie enjoyed playing bingo at therapy as well.

Minnie is survived by her loving children; a son, Douglas Gardner of the Town of Salisbury, New York; two daughters, Donna Wixon and her husband, Bradley of Fairbanks, AK and Brenda Baxter and her husband, Brian of Rochester, NY; six grandsons, Jonathan Schloicka and his wife, Jacqueline of Fort Lee, VA, Andrew Wixon and his wife, Michelle of Fairbanks, AK, Matthew Wixon and his wife, Alexandra of Fort Brag, NC, Joshua Krawec of Syracuse, NY, Bryce Baxter of Clarendon, NY and Brett Baxter of Clarendon, NY; four great-grandchildren, Arya Schloicka, Thaddaeus Schloicka, Bridget Wixon, and Ava Wixon.

She was predeceased by her brother, Clark Belcher and his wife, Betty; sisters, Ruth Rockwell and her husband, Bernerd and Julia Van Dyke and her husband, John.

Private family calling hours will be held at Roberts Funeral Home, 3 E. Faville Ave., Dolgeville, New York 13329. A private graveside service will be held at Dibble Tuttle Cemetery, Emmonsburg Rd., Salisbury Center, New York with Pastor Mark Hediger officiating.
