Margaret A. Bissett, 97, of Dolgeville, New York passed away peacefully on Monday morning, April 4, 2022 at Alpine Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Little Falls, New York with her loving daughter, Karen by her side. Until recently Margaret was living independently in her home in Dolgeville where she has resided for the past 30 years.

She was born on January 25, 1925 in Brooklyn, New York and was the daughter of the late, George and Jennie (Bishop) Bevers. Margaret received her schooling in Brooklyn schools and shortly thereafter, relocated to the Mohawk Valley with her husband Edward Kitner and their family.

Margaret was a devoted mother and homemaker to her five children for whom she raised in a loving home. On June 28, 1975, Margaret was united in marriage to Kenneth Bissett at the Lutheran Church in Dolgeville, New York. The couple shared a blessed union of nearly 27 years together until his passing on June 18, 2002.

She was well-known for her sewing and craft skills, fantastic baking, as well as being an active parishioner of the United Lutheran Presbyterian Parish. In earlier years, Margaret was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Dolgeville, New York along with her husband, who was a former commander of the Post. A loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother and a friend of many, she will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Margaret is survived by her beloved children, Edward Kitner and his wife, Merilyn of Mohawk, NY; Denis Kitner and his wife, Pam of VA; Karen Cool and her companion, Bob Sheppard of Dolgeville, NY and Michael Kitner and his wife, Silvia of NC; 16 loving grandchildren - Steven Kitner, Suzie Dise, Jason Kitner, Samantha Robbins, Bradley Kitner, Melissa Mantz, David Cool, Ryan Cool, Michelle Richardson, Tracy Goodwin, Denise Cool, Jennifer Evans, Robert Kitner, Nicole Allen, Scott Kitner, and Alise Zink and their families; 35 cherished greatgrandchildren and 8 great-great grandchildren. Also a brother-in-law, Wilbur Dunkle of Smethport, PA, daughter-in-law, Tina Kitner of North Carolina, and sister-in-law, Eva Bevers of Little Falls, NY.

She was predeceased by her loving husband, Kenneth Bissett, her cherished son, Randy Kitner, brothers, Frank Ryan, Edward Bevers, Harry Bevers, Eugene Bevers, Theodore Bevers, Frederick Bevers, George (Bill) Bevers, and sisters, Mary Bevers Williams and Helen Bevers Dunkle.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, April 20, 2022 at 11 a.m. at the United Lutheran Presbyterian Parish, 26 E. Faville Ave., Dolgeville, NY 13329 with church Elder Larry Beasley presiding. A private burial service will be held at Rural Park Cemetery in Inghams Mills, NY following the service. A reception will be held following the memorial service at the Dolgeville Volunteer Fire Department, 20 S. Helmer Ave., Dolgeville, NY.

The family is being cared for by Roberts Funeral Home and Miller-Plonka Funeral Home, 3 E. Faville Ave., Dolgeville, NY 13329.
