Lorraine “Lorry” D. Daley, 64, of Salisbury Center, New York, passed away on Tuesday evening, November 9, 2021 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Utica, New York with her loving, caring and supportive family by her side.
She was born on April 4, 1957 in Little Falls, New York and was the daughter of the late, Edward and Lucy (Geer) Plato. Lorry was educated at Stratford Central School and graduated with the Class of 1975.
On August 26, 2007, Lorry was united in marriage to Robert L. Daley in Salisbury Center, New York and have shared a union of 14 years together.
Lorry held several positions of employment throughout the years. Her most important role was a being a homemaker where she raised her children and grandchildren in a loving home.
In her spare time, Lorry enjoyed gardening, watching wildlife at her home, snowmen, making her annual bean soup and most importantly throughout the last several months, she particularly relished in watching the cardinals who would visit her daily while she fought her courageous battle with cancer. Lorry was a loving, giving, caring person who always took care of others around her before herself. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, meme and friend, she will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Robert L. Daley at home; her loving children, Wendy Daley and her husband, Paul, James Grassel, Bobbie Jo Getman and Kevin Getman, Jr., and Lisa Randall and her husband, Clinton, all of Salisbury Center, NY; her special grandchildren, Isaiah Grassel, Miranda Grassel, Kyle Getman (Nadia), Brady Getman, Jazzlyn Grassel (Andrew), James Grassel, CJ Randall, Gracey Randall, Everlee Randall, Colton Randall, Amber Farrell (Thomas), and Ashley Siver (Robert); cherished great-grandchildren, Alannah Grassel, Syncere Jenkins, Amelia Farrell, Sophia Farell and Jameson Farrell; step-children, Robert Daley, Jr. and Kim of Salisbury, NY, Hope Winkler and her husband, Jason of Salisbury, NY, and Josh Daley and his wife, Stephanie of Dolgeville, NY; Jamie Rodeo and family, Justina Abeling and family; step-grandchildren, Faith Daley and Family, Lexie Daley and Family, Delyla Daley, Cheyanne Daley and Family, Destiny Daley, Steven Smith, Ethan Winkler, and Kacy Daley; four sisters, Vicki, Sue, Earlene and Donna; many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; nieces, nephews including two special ones, Yolanda Nichols and Family, John White and Family; great-nieces, great-nephews, extended family; and special friends, Deb and Tracy.
Lorry was predeceased by her parents, James Grassel Sr., and sisters, Winnie and Marlene.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday, November 14, 2021 from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. at Miller-Plonka Funeral Home, 30 Wolf Street, Dolgeville, New York 13329. A Celebration of Life will be held immediately following calling hours at 2 p.m. at the Dolgeville Rod and Gun Club, Peckville Road, Dolgeville, New York. All are welcome to attend.
