Linda J. Youker Obituary

Linda J. Youker, 70, of Dolgeville, New York, passed away peacefully on Tuesday evening, July 31, 2024 at Bassett Healthcare in Cooperstown, New York after a brief illness. At the time of her passing, she had the love of her family by her side.

She was born on April 6, 1954 in Little Falls, New York and was the daughter of the late, Allen J.P. Youker, Sr. and the late, Anna P. (Madison) Youker. Linda was educated at Dolgeville Central School.

Linda spent the majority of her life working at Daniel Green Shoe in Dolgeville, New York as a laborer. After they closed in 1999, she went to work for LaSalle Industries in Little Falls, New York and retired in 2010.

Linda enjoyed trips to the casino, playing bingo, bowling, watching sports including football and baseball where she was an avid Giants and Mets fan and enjoyed her daily hot cup of Stewarts coffee along with a muffin. In younger years, Linda coached little league baseball for thirteen years. Her most favorite time was spent in the company of her family where she especially enjoyed family dinners the last couple of years. She will truly be missed by them.

She is survived by her brothers, Allen J. P. Youker, Jr. of Oppenheim, NY, Carl Youker and his wife, Linda of Oppenheim, NY, William Madison of Dolgeville, NY; a sister, Sharon Decker of Oppenheim, NY; an uncle, Cecil “Zeke” Madison of Dolgeville, NY; her special cousins, Gayle Harrington and Rachel Harrington, both of Little Falls, NY and David Ackley, Jr.; many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Linda is predeceased by her parents, a sister, Winiford “Winnie” Hicks and her husband, Stewart; a sister-in-law, Sharon Youker; a brother-in-law, Kenneth Decker, Sr.; and a cousin, John Harrington, Jr.

In keeping with Linda’s wishes, she will be cremated and no services will be held. The family is being cared for by locally owned and family operated, Miller-Plonka Funeral Home, 30 Wolf Street, Dolgeville, New York 13329, Cremations and Funerals.

Linda’s family would like to thank her cousin, Gayle Harrington and her family for all the last two years of love and care that Linda received from them.
