Linda A. Bilinski Obituary

Linda A. Bilinski, 77, of the Town of Salisbury, New York, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 4, 2025 at A. O. Fox Hospital in Oneonta, New York with her loving husband, Stanley and family by her side.

She was born on December 23, 1947 in Ilion, New York and was the daughter of the late, John and Audrey (Jarvis) Fischer. Linda was educated at Ilion Central School and graduated with the Class of 1965.

On September 23, 1967, Linda was united in marriage to the love of her life, Stanley J. Bilinski at Blessed Sacrament Church in Mohawk, New York. The couple shared 57 devoted years together and raised their two children, Michael and Joanne in a loving home.

Linda was a well-known beautician in the area. She worked for several salons in the area until she opened her own shop at her home. She cared for many clients throughout her 51 year career. Not only did her clients treasure her for her talents, but they also cherished Linda as a friend.

Linda loved cooking and singing with her groups, “The Merry Minstrels” and then later on with “Mixed Company” as well as performing with those groups at nursing homes to cheer up the residents. She was of the Catholic faith. Linda enjoyed attending all her grandchildren’s activities in all of their endeavors. Her most precious time was spent with her family. She will be remembered as a kind, soft spoken woman who was loving and so loved by many. A dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, Linda will be so dearly missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Stanley J. Bilinski at home; her son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Kathryn Bilinski of Dolgeville, NY; her daughter and son-in-law, Joanne and Daniel Zilkowski of Dolgeville, NY; grandchildren, Kara Zilkowski and her companion, Mark Spina of Frankfort, NY, Leah Zilkowski and her companion, Dillon Lyon of New Hartford, NY; Emma Bilinski of Dolgeville, NY and Jared Bilinski of Dolgeville, NY; sister, Cora Bull and her husband, Larry of AZ; brother, David Fischer and his wife, Lauri of Ilion, NY; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Doc and Louise Leonard of Richfield Springs, NY, Rich and Frankie Bilinski of Louisville, KY and Gary Luther of Buffalo, NY; and several nieces, nephews and cousins; and her loving pup, Rudy who adored her.

Linda was predeceased by her parents, John (Jack) and Audrey Fischer, a brother, Fred Fischer, a sister, Elaine (Fischer) Luther, and her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Walter and Margaret Bilinski.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday, April 12, 2025 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at locally owned and family operated, Miller-Plonka Funeral Home, 30 Wolf Street, Dolgeville, New York 13329, Cremations and Funerals. A funeral service will be held immediately following calling hours at 12 p.m. (noon) also at the funeral home. Procession will follow to St. Bridget’s Cemetery in Salisbury, New York where she will be laid to rest. All are welcome to attend.

During Linda’s service, there will be a time devoted to sharing memories of Linda and the family has asked that anyone who wishes to share their memory, to please write the memory on a 3x5 index card where it will be read by a member of the family. If you are not able to attend and would like to share, please leave your card in the funeral home mail box and it will be shared that way. The memories will be a keepsake for the family.
