Kim E. Cooper, 63, of the Town of Oppenheim, Dolgeville, New York, passed away on Monday night, August 1, 2022 at the Siegenthaler Center, Hospice and Palliative Care in the Town of Kirkland, New York with her loving family by her side.
She was born on July 23, 1959 in Queens, New York and is the daughter of Johanna E. (Vogeli) Campanella and the late, John J. Verderber, Jr. Kim was raised on Long Island, New York and attended Longwood High School where she graduated with the Class of 1977.
After relocating to upstate New York, Kim settled in the Dolgeville, New York area. She was joined in a loving and supportive long-time relationship with her fiancée, Joseph Dunn on August 12, 2012 and have shared ten years together.
Kim was formerly employed as a Direct Support Professional with Lexington Centers in Fulton County and worked at several of the home at various times over her 25+years of employment with the company.
In her spare time, Kim enjoyed digging for diamonds, reading, arts, crafts, laughter, yard sales, her pets, lottery scratch-offs, and was especially interested in her garden flowers and watching Forensic Files. She also enjoyed traveling in particular to the ocean at Shirley, New York and trips to the St. Lawrence River at Alexandria Bay, New York. Her most precious time was spent in the company of her family. Kim was a beloved fiancée, mother, grandmother and will be deeply missed by those closest to her.
She is survived by her beloved fiancée, Joseph “Jed” E. Dunn of Oppenheim, NY; mother, Johanna E. Campanella; children, Timothy Verderber, Heaven-Lee Cooper, Naomi Dunn and Tina Dunn; granddaughter, Jaci-Rae Cooper “Toodles” and grandsons, Gage and Austin; siblings, John J. Verderber, III, Michelle Transue Verderber, Kurt Verderber, Kimberly Verderber, Rachael Seeger, James Seeger, Rebekah Campanella Seeger, and John Seeger; nieces, Lemuria, Athena, Alanna, Jaida, Jewels, Jenna, Justine, Scarlett and Autumn; nephews, CJ, Kieryn, Kayden, Jarred, Trevor, and Christopher; many close friends, including, Eric Dunn, Rose Daley and Robin Charbonneau; and several extended family members.
Kim was predeceased by her father, John J. Vanderber, Jr.
A memorial service and Celebration of Life memorial will be held on Sunday, August 7, 2022 at 2 p.m. at New Hope Christian Fellowship, 32 Spencer Street, Dolgeville, New York with Pastor Pete Spiak officiating. Relatives and friends are welcome to greet the family after the service.
