Kenneth F. Roney, 87, a life-long Dolgeville resident, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 16, 2023 at the St. Johnsville Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in St. Johnsville, New York.
He was born on March 3, 1936 in Little Falls, New York and was the son of the late, Frazier and Maxine (Crowell) Roney. Kenneth attended St. Johnsville Schools.
In 1957, Ken enlisted in the United States Navy and served his country until his honorable discharge in 1963.
Ken was formerly employed by Daniel Green Shoe and Tricot in Dolgeville, New York until his retirement.
In his younger years, Ken enjoyed taking car rides on the Powley Road in Stratford, New York. He was also a faithful visitor of his ancestors, buried in Dolgeville Cemetery who he would visit daily and was a regular patron of Motor’s In. Ken was a past member of the American Legion Post 31.
Ken is survived by a brother, Keith Roney; his cousins, Carrie Kashuba, David Kashuba, James Kluge, Matt Kluge, and Tim Kluge and their families, all of Dolgeville, New York.
He was predeceased by his brother, Mickey Roney and a cousin, Judy Kluge.
A spring graveside memorial service will be held at a date and time to be announced in Dolgeville Cemetery where he will be laid to rest with his family.
The family of Kenneth F. Roney is being served by Roberts Funeral Home, 3 East Faville Avenue, Dolgeville, New York alongside Miller-Plonka Funeral Home, both family owned and operated.
Ken’s family would like to thank the staff of the St. Johnsville Nursing Rehabilitation Center for their care and support for Ken during his stay.
