Kenneth A. Rockwell

Kenneth A. Rockwell, 79, of Dolgeville, New York, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday evening, November 6, 2021 at Foltsbrook Center in Herkimer, New York where he had been a short-term patient for rehabilitation.

He was born on December 9, 1941 in Little Falls, New York and was the son of the late, Kenneth and Lucille (Rice) Rockwell. Kenny was educated at East Herkimer High School and graduated with the Class of 1955.

Kenny was a long time, self-employed, livestock dealer in the Herkimer County area who was well-known all over the state for his conversations and visits among farms, diners and restaurants he frequented in his travels.

He was a lifetime member of the Salisbury Ridgerunners Snowmobile Club, Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, the Farm Bureau and the National Rifle Association. Kenny was a former member of the Dolgeville Rod and Gun Club and the Sprite Club in Oppenheim. In his early years, fonder days were spent with friends being involved with the Mahogany Ridge Tug of War Teams and the Diamond Jubilee Halfway House.

Kenny is survived by his children, Keith Rockwell of Florida, Gregg Rockwell of Little Falls, NY, Scott Rockwell and his wife, Jean of Little Falls, NY, Kenni Lee Newkirk (Steve Barriger) of Frankfort, NY and Dirk Rockwell of Dolgeville, NY; 13 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Sharon Rockwell; a nephew, Larry Rockwell, Jr. of Little Falls, NY; a niece, Stacy McCarthy of Little Falls, NY; several extended family members; and thank you to his special friends, Joe Jablonski and Ed Farber for always helping Kenny out when needed.

He was predeceased by his parents and a brother, Larry Rockwell, Sr.

A graveside memorial service will be held on Friday, November 19, 2021 at 2 p.m. at Mountain View Memorial Garden on Shells Bush Rd., Little Falls as weather permits, where he will be laid to rest with his parents. Please check back closer to the service day to confirm if the service will be held or cancelled due to inclement weather. A Celebration of Life reception will also be held on Friday, November 19, 2021 at 4 p.m. at the Dolgeville Rod and Gun Club. All are welcome to attend both services.
