Kenneth "Ken" Valo, 53, of Potsdam, New York and originally from Little Falls, New York, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, March 26, 2021 at his home with his beloved Yorkie Lacey, by his side.
He was born on August 19, 1967 in Stamford, Connecticut and is the son of Milan S. Valo and the late, Betty L. (Anderson) Valo. He was educated at Little Falls Central School and graduated with the Class of 1985.
Shortly after graduation, Ken enlisted in the United States Army on August of 1986. He faithfully served his country in the Persian Gulf War. Ken was honorably discharged as a Corporal after eight years of service.
Ken was employed with Verizon in Potsdam, New York as a technician and worked his life in the communications industry in the Army and in his career.
He was a proud member of the Adirondack 46ers Club and loved to hike, cook, read, listen to all types of music. Ken was an avid New York Yankees fan. He will be dearly missed by his family.
Ken is survived by his daughters, Alyssa Valo of Dolgeville, NY, Caylie Valo of Utica, NY; long time wife, Deborah Valo of GA; step sons, Garrett Peek of AK, and Lance Holland of NV; eight grandchildren; a brother, Gus Valo of Mayfield, NY; a sister, Denise Valo of FL;; and his father, Milan S. Valo.
He was predeceased by his beloved son, Kenny Valo, his mother, Betty Lou Valo and his special Yorkie, Lacey who also passed by his side.
In keeping with family wishes, there will be no services. The family is being cared for by Miller-Plonka Funeral Home, 30 Wolf Street, Dolgeville, New York 13329.
