Judy M. Kluge

Judy M. Kluge, 81, of Dolgeville, New York, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday morning, August 29, 2023, at her home.

She was born on January 6, 1942 in Little Falls, New York and was the daughter of the late, Dorothy (Mosher) Near. Judy was educated at Dolgeville Central School and graduated with the Class of 1961.

On March 4, 1961, Judy was united in marriage with James E. Kluge at the Universalist Church in Dolgeville, New York. The couple shared 62 years together this year.

Judy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who cared for her family and home as a beloved homemaker.

She cherished spending time with her family and friends and particularly had a fondness of watching animals on farms especially cows. Judy will be deeply missed by her family and close friends.

She is survived by her husband, James E. Kluge at home; two sons, Matt Kluge and Tim Kluge and his wife, Theresa all of Dolgeville, NY; grandchildren, April Galetta and her husband, Josh of Salisbury, NY, Kelsey Reid and her husband, Gregory of Dolgeville, Tyler Kluge and his wife, Kayla of St. Johnsville, NY, Gabby Kluge and her companion, Tyler Strobeck of Herkimer, NY, Ashton Kluge and Tenley Kluge, both of Dolgeville, NY; great-grandchildren, Victoria Galetta, Olivia Galetta, Rayne LaVeck, Aria LaVeck, Callum Reid, Mylo Reid, Ellie Kluge, Khoal Kluge, and Theo Strobeck; nieces and nephew, Amy (Kashuba) Heiler and her husband, Doug of Rochester, NY, David Kashuba and his wife, Tracy of Salisbury, NY, and Carrie Kashuba of Dolgeville, NY; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Frederick “Fritz” Kluge and his wife of Omaha, NE; two cousins, Leann Miller of Dolgeville, NY and Ken Roney of St. Johnsville, NY; several nieces and nephews and extended family.

Judy was predeceased by her two infant sons, John Kluge and James Kluge and a sister, Joan Kashuba and her husband, William “Bill”.

In keeping with family wishes, a private graveside service will be held at Dolgeville Cemetery in Dolgeville, New York at the convenience of the family. The family is being served by Miller-Plonka Funeral Home, 30 Wolf Street, Dolgeville, New York 13329.
