John T. Mulvaney Obituary

John T. Mulvaney, Jr., 64 of Stratford, New York and formerly of Ballston Lake, New York, passed away peacefully on Monday evening, October 3, 2022 in the comfort of his home with his loving wife and daughter by his side.

He was born on April 29, 1958 in Schenectady, New York and was the son of the late, John and Gloria (Cote) Mulvaney. John was educated at Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake High School and graduated with the Class of 1976.

On March 2, 1985, John was united in marriage to Gail E. Schaff at the Fellowship Baptist Church in Ballston Lake, New York. The couple shared a loving union of 37 years together.

John and his wife were the owners and operators of Town and Country Cleaning in the Ballston Lake and Saratoga area. They retired from their business in October of 2021 after 27 years of service. John and Gail then moved to their retirement home on Seeley Road to enjoy the comfort and peace of the Adirondack Mountains.

In his spare time, John enjoyed working outside and using his tractor to care for his property and home. He was a talented woodworker, carpenter and wood crafter. He also enjoyed driving his truck and playing with his dog, Maggie. His most precious time was spent in the company of his wife, daughter and sister who will miss him dearly.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Gail at home; a daughter, Kimberly Hackel and her husband, Brian of Albany, NY; a sister, Kathy Mulvaney of Saratoga Springs, NY; and aunt, Helen Holcomb of Guilderland; three sisters in law, Jackie Schaff of Greenfield Center, NY, Sandy LaFountain and her husband, Jim of Greenfield Center, NY and Kathy Schaff of FL; cousins, Darlene Cassidy and her husband, Bill of Ballston Spa, NY,  Bev Boss and her husband, Mike of Ballson Spa, NY, Pat and Larry Scholl of CT and Sandy Solomon and her husband, Tom of Guilderland, NY; nieces, Sharon Summers and Suezan Arms and several cousins and extended family members.

John was predeceased by his parents, John and Gloria Mulvaney, father and mother-in-law, Ed and Evelyn Schaff, an uncle, Jerry Holcomb, an aunt and uncle, Loita and Fran Cote, a brother-in-law, Gary Schaff, a cousin, James Groncki and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

In keeping with family wishes, there will be no formal services. The family is being cared for by Miller-Plonka Funeral Home, 30 Wolf Street, Dolgeville, New York.
