John L. Atkinson

John L. Atkinson, 84, of Stratford, New York and for the last two years of the Fulton Center for Rehab in Gloversville, New York, passed away peacefully at the nursing home on Sunday morning, April 5, 2020.

He was born on August 8, 1935 in the Town of Minden, New York and was the son of the late, Charles and Ruth (Phillips) Atkinson.  He was educated at St. Johnsville and Little Falls Schools.

John was self employed as a farmer and also worked various jobs for himself.

He enjoyed playing cards and bingo.

He is survived by his sisters, Elizabeth Morris, Charlotte Atkinson, Irene Atkinson, and Beatrice Clemons; a brother, Oliver Atkinson; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

He was predeceased by his brothers, Charles Atkinson, Harold Atkinson, George Atkinson and an infant brother, Bruce Atkinson.

A private family graveside service will be held at Michael Cemetery in Lassellsville, Town of Ephratah, New York.
