Jill Marie Miller

Our beloved Jill Marie Miller, 39, of Dolgeville, New York and a life-long Oppenheim, New York resident, passed away unexpectedly early Sunday morning, March 20, 2022 at Little Falls Hospital. At the time of her passing, she had the love and comfort of her parents, siblings and close friends by her side.  

She was born on June 11, 1982 in Little Falls, New York and the daughter of Laurie and George Stanley and Leo Miller (Sally). She was born the fifth of six children. Jill was educated at Oppenheim-Ephratah Central School and graduated with the Class of 2000.  

Jill was previously employed as a healthcare giver at Lexington Center in the local area and lastly at Brookside in Ephratah, New York.  

When Jill walked into a room, her smile and infectious laugh was all it took to brighten everyone’s day. She was a friend to everyone she would meet, even with all of the hospital stays. Jill was so much like her grandfather, Spike, where she would talk to everyone, was a friend forever and would do anything for anyone.  

Jill will be fondly remembered by her family and friends, as a spunky, fun and carefree person who never gave up on her fight for her life. She loved deeply and in return was loved by all who knew her. Her family, friends, and community will feel the loss of such a wonderful person for years to come. A loving daughter, granddaughter, sister, aunt and friend, she will be dearly missed forever.  

She is survived by her beloved parents, Laurie and George Stanley, and Leo Miller (Sally); loving maternal grandmother, Alice Silvernail, her siblings, Carrie Urdang (Jason), Chad Miller, Brian Miller (Brenda), Timothy Miller (Stephanie), Molly Miller (Richard), Aaron Stanley, and Dustin Stanley (Samantha); special sisters, Wendy Shaut Miller, Lyndsey Lowell Miller, Meegan Daukontas-Goodman and Olivia Tabor; cherished nieces and nephews, Sonja (Justin), Brianna Jo, Leaha, Kayleigh, Tyler, Hunter (Kiara), Blaine, Jarred, Cooper, Laura-Lynn, Isabella, Rori and Elaina; her one and only fur-baby, Skippy; and special long time friend, Sergio Arbustini; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family and friends who were family.  

She was predeceased by her maternal grandfather, Carl “Spike” Silvernail and her paternal grandparents, Albert and Jennie Miller.  

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, March 24, 2022 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Miller-Plonka Funeral Home, 30 Wolf Street, Dolgeville, New York. A funeral service will be held on Friday, March 25, 2022 at 11 a.m. also at Miller-Plonka Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. R.W. Williams, Pastor officiating. Interment will immediately follow the funeral service at Brown Cemetery in Oppenheim, New York where she will be laid to rest. After the interment service, family and friends are invited to gather at the Oppenheim Senior Center on Tobacco Road in Oppenheim. The family would like to thank the staff of MOVAC and the doctors, nurses and staff of Little Falls Hospital- E.D. and all of the family, friends and acquaintances of Jill for their care, compassion and support during this difficult time.  

A saying that Jill always said was, “Stick with me and we’ll go places!” Jill, we hope you are free from pain and suffering, that you are flying high and finally have peace and comfort. Until we all meet again, we love you!
