Jacqueline “Jackie” M. (Shibley) Bailey, 52, of Hartwick, New York (Town of Exeter) and formerly a Salisbury, New York native, passed away peacefully in the comfort of her own home on Thursday, June 18,2026 with her family by her side.
She was born on October 23, 1973 in Little Falls, New York and was the daughter of Gary and Donna (Johnson) Shibley. Jackie attended Little Falls High School and graduated with the Class of 1991. She then went on to further her education at Hillsborough Community College where she earned an Associate’s Applied Science Degree in Arts, graduating in 2009.
On May 4, 2012, Jackie was united in marriage to Mark D. Bailey at the town hall in the town of Minden, New York. They shared a union of over 16 years and raised their children in a fun and loving home.
Jackie, Mark and their family moved to Florida in previous years, and Jackie worked by taking care of handicapped and elderly individuals at Duneden In, Florida for several years before moving back to New York.
Jackie held a strong spiritual belief in her Lord and enjoyed her bible study groups on Wednesday night as well as attending church on Sundays. She liked to go fishing, hiking, swimming, camping and anything outside.
She was a talented artist writing poetry, drawing and painting. Her favorite time was dancing with her kids whom she loved with all of her heart. Jackie will be dearly missed by her family and all who knew her.
She is survived by her husband, Mark D. Bailey at home; her children, Angelina G. Cardona of Richfield, NY, Gracee Mariee Negron of Rochester, NY, and Garbreal W. D. Bailey of Hartwick, NY; step-children, Shean M. Bailey of Cobleskill, NY, Owen J. Bailey of VT, and Joshua A. Bailey of Utica, NY; grandchildren, Nicholas Negron and James T. Abare; a sister, Karen M. Rumrill and her husband, Robert of Oppenheim, NY; one aunt, three uncles and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Jackie was predeceased by her parents; siblings, Gary D. Shibley, Jr. and Ruth Ann (Shibley) Laskowski.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday, July 25, 2026 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Upstate Chapel or the New Beginnings Bible Church on the corner of 63 Cliff Street and Walnut Street, Canajoharie, New York 13317. A memorial service will follow calling hours, also at the church. Family and friends are invited to a committal service, following the memorial where Jackie will be laid to rest in Salisbury Rural Cemetery with her parents and siblings. All are welcome to attend.
