Harriet Schuyler, 89, of Salt Springs, Florida, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Wednesday, February 11, 2026 in the comfort of her own home.
She was born on July 8, 1936 Gloversville, New York and was the daughter of the late Glen Patterson and Bertha (Fisher) Broat. She attended Johnston High School and graduated with the Class of 1953.
Harriet was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed cooking and entertaining.
She is survived by her five sons and their wives, Bruce Broat and his wife, Karen of Utica, NY, Douglas Broat and his wife, Pam of Frankfort, NY, Mark Broat and his wife, Gloria of Sanford, Fl, Jeff Broat and his wife, Tammy of Dolgeville, NY, and Roger Broat of Ocala, Fl; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her father, Glen Patterson in 1970, mother Bertha Broat in 2003, 1st husband James H Broat, Jr. in 1992, 2nd husband Leon Schuyler in 1979, a daughter Shirley Avery in 2012.
A private graveside service will be held at Rural Park Cemetery, Town of Manheim, NY. A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, May 8, 2026 at 1 p.m. at Dopps Inn, 166 South Main Street, Dolgeville, New York 13329. All are welcome to greet the family at this time.
