Gregory M. Burdick Obituary

Gregory M. Burdick, 61, of Canajoharie, New York and a Dolgeville area native, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, January 29, 2020 in a vehicular accident on Clinton Road in Canjoharie.

He was born on December 27, 1958 in Little Falls, New York and was the son of Melvyn and Jacqueline (Brundige) Burdick. He attended Stratford Central School and was a former member of the Army National Guard. In his younger years, Greg was employed by Daniel Green Shoe Company in Dolgeville, New York. 

Greg was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing, snowmobiling as well as being a member of the  Salisbury Ridgerunners, NASCAR and in particular he was a #9 Kasey Kahne fan. Greg loved watching football and was a San Francisco 49ers fan and he looked forward to watching his team play in the Super Bowl this Sunday. 

Greg is survived by his father, Melvyn Burdick and his companion, Mary Dumka of Silver Springs, FL; two brothers, Willard Burdick and his companion, Tammy Cutter of Schenectady and Timothy Burdick of Ilion, NY; an uncle, Perry Brundige and his wife, Becky of Gloversville, NY; special cousins that were more like a sister and brother to Greg, Tia and David Eckler of Canajoharie and their children, Matthew Eckler, Michael and Autumn Eckler, David Eckler, Jr. and Amanda Eckler; several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins and many Amish friends.

Greg was predeceased by his mother, Jacqueline Burdick in June of 2000. 

Calling hours will be held on Monday, February 3, 2020 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home, 3 East Faville Avenue, Dolgeville, New York. A funeral service will be held immediately following calling hours at 1 p.m. also at the funeral home. Burial will take place in the spring at Salisbury Rural Cemetery.

The family would like to thank all the emergency services, police departments and staff of Albany Medical Center involved with caring for Greg at the time of the accident and the effort put for in trying to save his life.
