Eva Loraine Aubin, age 93, of Stratford, New York passed away peacefully at home early Wednesday morning, May 12, 2021 with her loving family by her side.
She was born May 17, 1927 in Durham, NC, the daughter of the late, Albert and Katherine (Raby) Owens and was educated in North Carolina schools.
Loraine was united in marriage to Leo Alphonse Aubin in the Presbyterian Church in Norfolk, VA on May 29, 1955. The couple shared a marriage of nearly 66 years where they raised their children in a loving home.
Loraine held a great interest in antiques and loved collecting art glass in many forms. Her hobbies included painting, quilting and decorating. Loraine took great care in her appearance and enjoyed following the latest fashion trends. She also enjoyed all genres of music and loved to sing. Another favorite pastime of hers, was watching the multitude of birds that frequently visited the bird feeders outside her picture window. Loraine’s love of flowers was evident in the many displays surrounding her home.
Loraine will be remembered as a very loving, caring, kind, and generous wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend, who cared for each of them very deeply.
She is survived by her beloved husband and caregiver, Leo; her loving children, two daughters Sheila A. Pavlus & husband, Richard of Oppenheim, NY, Alicia R. Johnson of Herkimer, NY; sons, Daniel Dillard of Utica and former daughter-in-law, Claire, of Rome NY, Rick Nepomuceno & wife, Eileen of Honolulu, HI; special grandchildren, Peter Nepomuceno, Iliki Del Poso, David Dillard, Katie Walker, Emily Dillard, Brittany Cerasi & Danielle Cerasi, Marissa VanValkenburg, Garrett Pavlus, Raya Nepomuceno, Alex Nepomuceno & Leah Nepomuceno. She also leaves behind eight cherished great-grandchildren.
Loraine is predeceased by her beloved son, Ronald Nepomuceno of Wolfeboro, NH, as well as three sisters and three brothers.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday May 19, 2021 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Miller-Plonka Funeral Home, 30 Wolf Street, Dolgeville, New York 13329. A memorial service will be held immediately after the calling hours at 6 p.m. with Reverend R.W. Williams officiating. A graveside burial service will take place on Thursday, May 20, 2021 at 11 a.m. at Salisbury Rural Cemetery in Salisbury Center, New York. All are welcome to attend all the services. We ask that you please wear a mask and follow social distancing procedures.
