Eva B. Bevers Obituary

Eva B. Bevers, 83, of Stratford, New York passed away peacefully, early Monday morning, July 29, 2024 at Alpine Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Litte Falls, New York, where she has resided for the last several years.

She was born on August 12, 1940 on the family farm in Stratford, New York and was the daughter of the late, Herman and Vera (Hayes) Mosher, Sr. Eva attended Stratford Central School.

On October 28, 1961, Eva was united in marriage to Eugene H. Bevers, Sr. at the Dolgeville United Methodist Church in Dolgeville, New York. The couple shared a union of nearly 50 years when Eugene, Sr., passed away on August 19, 2011.

Together, Eugene and Eva raised their seven children in a loving home where Eva spent most of her life as a loving homemaker for her family. She spent several years working for Daniel Green Shoe Company in Dolgeville, New York when her children were teenagers.

In addition to being a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister, Eva enjoyed cooking meals for her large family, gardening and growing the most beautiful flowers. She will be deeply missed by her family.

She is survived by her children, Cathy Mosher and her fiancée, Scott Weberding of Peppertown, IN, Frank Bevers of Mohawk, NY, Patricia Nethaway of Bedford Hills, NY, Sandra Worden and her husband, Michael of Stratford, NY and Amy Becker and her husband, James of Salem, NJ; 15 great-grandchildren; many great-great grandchildren; a brother, Harold Mosher of Amsterdam, NY; a sister, Vera Gilchrist of Little Falls, NY; sisters-in-law, Jean Bevers and Frannie Mosher; nieces, nephews, cousins and many extended family members.

Eva was predeceased by her two sons, Eugene “Sam” H. Bevers, Jr. and Paul M. Bevers; a son-in-law, Richard Mosher; her brothers, Herman “Sunny” Mosher, Jr., Dean Mosher and his wife, Jean, Alan Mosher; brothers-in-law, Frederick Bevers, Theodore Bevers, Harry Bevers, George Bevers, Jr., Frank Ryan, Charles Gilchrist; sisters-in-law, Mary Mosher, Helen Dunkle, Mary Williams and Marge Bissett.

A memorial graveside service will be held on Thursday, August 1, 2024 at 1 p.m. at Dibble Tuttle Cemetery with family friend, David Tarbox officiating. The family is being cared for by locally owned and family operated, Miller-Plonka Funeral Home, 30 Wolf Street, Dolgeville, New York 13329.

The family would like to thank the staff of Alpine Rehabilitation and Nursing Center for their care and compassion that was shown to Eva and her family while residing there.
