Ellen M. Lewandowski, 67, of Dolgeville, New York, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 17, 2026 at Bassett Healthcare in Cooperstown, New York with her loving family by her side.
She was born on February 28, 1958 in Little Falls, New York and was the daughter of the late, Loren and Eleanor (Doxstader) Daley. She attended Stratford Central School.
On August 29, 1981, Ellen was united in marriage to Richard F. Lewandowski in Stratford, New York. The couple shared a blessed union of 44 years together.
She was formerly employed at Gehring Tricot Corporation in Dolgeville, New York as a napping room supervisor and was later employed as a lunch monitor at Dolgeville Central School until her retirement.
Ellen was of the Methodist faith and was a member of the Dolgeville United Methodist Church.
Ellen had knack for baking all sorts of cookies and treats where many people enjoyed her past time. In earlier years, she was an assistant to her daughter, Amanda’s Girl Scout Troop throughout her schooling. She also had a fun and loving sense of humor. A beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, Ellen will be missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her husband and caregiver, Richard F. Lewandowski at home; her children, Shawn Lewandowski of Dolgeville, NY, Amanda Inman and her husband, Kyle of New Brighton, MN and Kimberly Walker and husband, Tim of Lake Villa, IL; grandchildren, Damarius McNair, Caroline McNair, Jude Inman and Finnelly Inman; siblings, Alice Comstock of Dolgeville, NY Gary Daley and Donna of Salisbury, NY, Paul Daley and Wendy of Salisbury, NY, Betty Hamrich and Eileen Daley of Herkimer, NY; many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; nieces, nephews and cousins.
Ellen was predeceased by her sister, Carol and Janet.
A spring graveside memorial service will be held at Dolgeville Cemetery in Dolgeville, New York at a date and time to be announced. The family is being cared for by locally owned and family operated, Miller-Plonka Funeral Home, 30 Wolf Street, Dolgeville, New York, Cremations and Funerals.
