Dora M. Schuyler, 83, of Oppenheim, New York, passed away peacefully on Sunday evening, June 7, 2020 at St. Johnsville Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, with her loving family by her side.
She was born on February 4, 1937 in Little Falls, New York and was the daughter of the late, Willard and Grace (Johnson) Sheppard. She was educated at Dolgeville Central School.
On July 4, 1954, Dora was united in marriage to Leland "Squeaky" Schuyler on the Schuyler Family Farm in Oppenheim, New York. The couple shared a loving union of 51 years until his passing in October of 2005.
Dora was a homemaker until her children were grown and then she went to work for several years at Daniel Green Shoe Company in Dolgeville, New York.
In her spare time, Dora enjoyed playing bingo, gardening and working outside, road side clean up, reading books and baking, especially her famous mayonnaise chocolate cake.
She is survived by her children, Barry Schuyler, Sr. of Gloversville, NY; Cindy Mosher and her husband, Allan of Oppenheim, NY, Tina Hazzard and her husband, Ronald of Little Falls, NY, Tammy Hazzard and her husband, Darwin of Little Falls, NY, and Timothy Schuyler and his companion, Jody Odderman of FL; grandchildren, Allan Mosher III, Leland Mosher, Kristy Mosher, Leanna Williams, Adriana Snyder, Katlyn Hazzard, Charity Schuyler, Barry Schuyler, Jr., Matt Schuyler, Sarah Schuyler, Melissa DiNuzzo, Peter Anderson, Katlyn Mosher, Elizabeth Mosher, Allison Mosher, Jada Fink, Zane Mosher, and Noah Mosher; several great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; and a special family member, Sandy Jones of Herkimer, New York.
Dora was predeceased by her husband, Leland Schuyler, a brother, Willard "Bill" Sheppard and a sister, Lois Sheppard Jones and a daughter in law, Wilhelmina Schuyler.
Calling hours and funeral services are private at this time. Burial will take place in Rural Park Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest with her husband, Leland. Arrangements are with Miller-Plonka Funeral Home, 30 Wolf Street, Dolgeville, New York 13329 (315) 429-7123.
