Dale A. Brinkley Obituary

Dale A. Brinkley, 71, of the Town of Salisbury, New York, passed away unexpectedly on Monday evening, May 25, 2020 at St. Luke’s Healthcare, New Hartford, New York.

He was born on September 22, 1948 in Kane, Pennsylvania and was the son of the late, William Snyder and Mary L. Brinkley.  He was educated at Kane High School and graduated with the Class of 1967.  Dale then went on to attend the Culinary Institute of America, School of Hotel Administration at Cornell University and graduated with the Class of 1969.
On September 6, 2008, Dale married his companion of 8 years, Patricia Johnson at the Crystal Chandelier in Middleville, New York. The couple would have shared their 12th year of marriage this fall.

Dale was formerly employed with the State of Massachusetts at the Salisbury Housing Authority as a building maintenance supervisor where he worked for 24 years until his retirement in 2011.  He was also the owner and operator of The Kendrick House in Salisbury, Massachusetts until 1988 after 12 years of operation.
He was of the Protestant faith.  Dale was a member of the 40+ Motorcycle Club as well as the Salisbury Ridgerunners Snowmobile Club.  He as an avid hunter and ocean fisherman and enjoyed the activities of snowmobiling and gardening.  Dale was a loving grandfather and treasured watching his grandchildren’s activities as well as spending time with his family.  A loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, he will be missed by all who knew him.

Dale is survived by his beloved wife, Patricia “Patti” Brinkely; two daughters, Devon Azar and her fiancee, Katrina Smoker of Chesapeake, VA, and Kelley Parron and her husband, Rich of South Carolina; three step children, Kimberly Yacobucci and her partner, John Ressue of Little Falls, NY, Kelly Farquhar and her husband, Bryan of Salisbury, NY, and Kyle Evans of Schuyler, NY; his grandchildren, Aiden, Addison and Avery Azar & Steven and Natalya Smoker; Katie, Blake Adrianna, Jordyn and Colin Parron; Connor Ballou; and Mackenzie and Bayleigh Farquhar; a brother, Shawn Cadden and his wife, Bobbi of Fayetteville, NC; a sister, Kim Brown and her husband, John of Bradford, PA; brothers and sisters in law, Donna Madison, Regina and Richard Coffin, Loretta Timmerman, Sharon and Michael Martyniuk and Audrey Dillenbeck; an aunt, Nora Michaels; several nieces and nephews; and his beloved puppies, Mia and Snickers.

He was predeceased by his maternal grandmother, Dorothy Mangold Brinkley, his mother, Mary Lucille Cadden, mother in law, Dorothy Johnson, uncles, Joseph Brinkley and Jack Mangold, aunts, Mona Faulkarod and Elizabeth O’Niell.

The Brinkley Family would like to give a special thanks to Kathleen Barretta and the staff of the Aspen Unit at the Presbyterian Home in New Hartford, NY, all of the medical staff at Strong Memorial and Little Falls Hospital, crews of Mohawk Valley Ambulance Corps, Salisbury Volunteer Fire Department, and the visiting nurses of At Home Care.  Dale touched many lives and his family is appreciative of all the care and support he received over the past year.  Patti also wishes to thank her children for their support during this time.
