Cathleen Ann (Griffin) Moon

Cathleen Ann Griffin Moon, devoted wife, adoring mother, beloved daughter, and loyal friend, passed away on September 6, 2022 in Pfafftown, NC at the age of 47. Cathleen was diagnosed with cancer in 2014 and fought her battle with grace and strength, always choosing to cherish each moment.

Cathleen was born on December 17, 1974 in Little Falls, NY. She graduated from Dolgeville Central School (NY) and Lynchburg College (VA) with a Bachelor of Arts in Music Education. Music and Broadway were enormous passions in Cathleen’s life. She taught elementary and middle school students in Band and Strings for 17 years in Roanoke, Virginia. She shared this passion with all of her students and passed it on to them. Her children also share her love of the arts.

Her three children were the apple of her eye. The happiest times in her life were those spent with her husband, children, family, and friends.

Cathleen leaves behind her husband of 21 years, Gregory Moon, children, Michaela, Joshua, and Madison Moon, parents Barbara and Robert Griffin, grandmother Eleanor Keil, brother Alan Griffin, special Aunt Joyce, Uncle Rodney, Peg Czarnecki and many other loved ones, family members, and friends.

Cathleen’s family would like to express their appreciation to all of the physicians and practitioners who were involved in her care over the years including: Blue Ridge Cancer Care in Roanoke, VA, Atrium Wake Forest Baptist Health in Winston-Salem, NC, and Trellis Supportive Care.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, September 10, 2022 at noon at Vogler Funeral & Cremations at Forsyth Memorial Park. The family will receive friends for a visitation prior to the service beginning at 11am.
