Carol R. Mouyos

Carol R. Mouyos, 91, of Delmar, New York, passed away peacefully on Sunday evening, July 26, 2020 at St. Luke's Healthcare in New Hartford, New York.

She was born on November 10, 1928 in Allentown, Pennsylvania and was a daughter of the late, Paul and Renee Schrader.  Mrs. Mouyos graduated from Allentown schools and attended Cedar Crest College, a private women's liberal arts college, where she earned a Bachelor's Degree in Education specializing in English.  Mrs. Mouyos was the valedictorian of her high school class and her college class.

After her college graduation, Mrs. Mouyos took a position as an English teacher at Troy High School in Troy, New York where she enjoyed teaching immensely. 

Carol was united in marriage to Mr. Christos P. Mouyos and shared a loving union for many years where they raised their son, Paul, in a loving home.  Mr. Mouyos passed away on July 22, 1996.

Later in life, Mrs. Mouyos was employed with New York State Taxation and Finance Department as well as the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles for several years until her retirement.

Mrs. Mouyos was a Born Again Christian and surrounded her life with her faith in God.  She enjoyed hosting large bible studies with her fellow Christians.  She had a beautiful voice and shared her love of singing with her peers. Mrs. Mouyos possessed a pure and beautiful soul and was a timeless and classy lady of her generation.  A loving wife, mother and grandmother, she will be dearly missed by her family.

She is survived by her beloved son and daughter in law, Paul and Heidi Mouyos of Newport, NY; two loving granddaughters, Matina Mouyos and her companion, Jerry Caser Tino of Mechanicville, NY and Savannah Mouyos of Newport, NY; two nephews, George Germain of Brooksville, FL and Greg Saffares of Latham, NY; additional family, Gary and Cindy Firda of Schnectady, NY; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

In keeping with family wishes, a private graveside funeral service will be held for Mrs. Mouyos in Bethlehem Cemetery in Delmar, New York where she will be laid to rest with her beloved husband, Christos P. Mouyos.
