Bonnie E. (Claus) Myers, 81, of the Town of Oppenheim, New York, passed away on Thursday morning, July 27, 2023, in the comfort of her own home. At the time of her passing, she had the love and support of her family by her side.
She was born on December 13, 1941, in Little Falls, New York and was the daughter of the late, Virgil and Lelan (Smith) Claus. Bonnie attended Oppenheim-Ephratah Central School and graduated with the Class of 1959.
Bonnie was united in marriage to Robert Myers, who passed away in September of 2022.
She was a home healthcare aide for Visiting Nurses Home Health Care for over 15 years in Johnstown, New York and retired in 2011. Prior to home healthcare, Bonnie worked at Daniel Greens in Dolgeville, New York.
Bonnie was of the Methodist faith. She enjoyed going for rides, doing crossword puzzles, going to different places, visiting friends, and playing cards. She loved her grandchildren and liked to FaceTime with her great-grandchildren. A loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, Bonnie will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her two beloved children, Liz Vickers and her husband, Todd of Tennessee and Corey Bennett and his husband, Donald of Oppenheim, NY; grandchildren, Zachary Vickers and his wife, Jennifer of TN and Tyler Vickers and his wife, Jenna of TN; great-grandchildren, Savannah Vickers, Remington Vickers, Presley Vickers, Poppy Vickers and Paxton Vickers; siblings, Janey Hayes, Kellie Fiskaa and her husband, Allan, and Shawn Claus and his fiancé, Sandy Yates all of Oppenheim, NY; sister-in-law, Valerie Claus of Oppenheim, NY; former husband, Russell Daley and his wife, Beverly of Stratford, NY; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins.
Bonnie was predeceased by her parents, and her brothers, Peter Claus and Jeffery Claus.
Bonnie’s family will be holding a Celebration of Life for family and friends on Saturday, July 29, 2023 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at her and Corey’s home at 138 State Highway 150, St. Johnsville, New York 13452. All are welcome to stop by to honor Bonnie’s life.
