Betty J. Moore Obituary

Betty J. Moore, 87, of Salisbury Center, New York passed away peacefully on Wednesday afternoon, January 14, 2026 at Alpine Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Little Falls, New York. At the time of her passing, she had the love of her husband of 70 years, Arnold and their children by her side.

She was born on December 1, 1938 in Stratford, New York and was the daughter of the late, Richard and Mary (Bradley) Rockwell. Betty was educated at Stratford Central School.

On October 1, 1955, Betty was united in marriage to Arnold F. Moore at the Salisbury Methodist Church Parsonage. This past year they shared 70 years together.

Betty was formerly employed at Daniel Green Shoe Company in Dolgeville, New York as a machine operator. She worked for over 20 years with the company and retired in 1998.

She had a love for gardening. Betty was a member of the Salisbury Methodist Church, Auskerada Maques Rock City Chapter #204, Order of the Eastern Star located in Dolgeville, New York, the Frisbee House and the Salisbury Historical Society, both in Salisbury, New York, and a member of the Red Hat Society where she would enjoy her luncheons and dinners with her friends.

The most precious time Betty shared was with her large family and the love of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A fun and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother and friend, Betty will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Arnold F. Moore at home; children, David and Siri Moore of Salisbury, NY, LuAnn Voorhees of Dolgeville, NY, Denise Youker of SC, Tracy and David Kashuba of Salisbury, NY; cherished grandchildren, Rebecca Hall and her husband, Eric, Daniel Voorhees and his wife, Mandy, Nicole Sietsma and her husband, David, Colby Moore and Emily, Ethan Youker and his wife, Gina, Joel Youker and his wife, Naomi, Deven Youker and his wife, Hannah, Gabe Kashuba and his wife, Kelsea, and Karleigh Kashuba and Ian DeThomas; great-grandchildren, Emma, Isaiah, Joey, Laiton, Kaden, Landon, Kellen, Teagan, Ella, Tia, Neuma, Bennett, Patton, Lincoln, Sonny, Rohan, Annaleigh and Addelyn; great-great grandchildren, Maddox, Rosalie, and Willa; her sister, Joan Moore; sister-in-law, Arlene Rockwell; many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family; and special friends, Penni Harper, Edna Green, Paula Eggleston and Fran Gorinshek.

Betty was predeceased by her siblings and their spouses, Herbert and Betty Rockwell, William and Veronica Rockwell, Irene and Everett Barnes, and Harold “Pete” Rockwell; a brother-in-law, Dean Moore; sister-in-law, Brenda Carpenter; and a beloved grandson, Collin Youker.

A Celebration of Life Reception will be held on Sunday, February 1, 2026 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Dolgeville Rod and Gun Club, 697 Peckville Road, Dolgeville, New York 13329. The family is being cared for by locally owned and family operated, Miller-Plonka Funeral Home, 30 Wolf Street, Dolgeville, New York 13329, Cremations and Funerals. A burial in Salisbury Rural Cemetery will be held at a date to be announced. 

The family would like to thank the staff at Alpine Rehabilitation and Nursing Center for their care for Betty during her stay for the last several months.
