Audrey E. Stowell Obituary

Audrey E. Stowell, 78, of Dolgeville, New York (Town of Oppenheim) passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, November 16, 2022 at her home.

She was born on March 22, 1944 in Gloversville, New York and was the daughter of the late, Harmon and Madeline Nayome (Praetorius) McCann. Audrey received her schooling from Johnstown High School.

On February 11, 1961, Audrey was united in marriage to Larry C. Stowell. They shared a marriage of 30 years together. He passed away on March 15, 2000.

Audrey was employed by Daniel Green Shoe until their permanent closure, and then worked at Kass and Kell for several years. She then went on to work for Helmont Mills in St. Johnsville, New York for several until her retirement in 2006.

She enjoyed crossword puzzles and watching tv. Her favorite time was visiting with her family and friends. She will be dearly missed by them.

Audrey is survived by her two daughters, Sherri L. Hayes and her husband, Richard K. Hayes of Dolgeville, NY and Shelli M. Miller and her companion, Thomas E. Jackson Jr. of Stratford, NY; grandchildren, Michael R. Hart and his wife, Caroline of St. Johnsville, NY, Kyle R. Hayes of Dolgeville, NY, James A. Miller, II and his companion, Beth R. Bierstine of Stratford, NY, Aaron J. Miller and his companion, Natasha Masicotte of Little Falls, NY and Karli V. (Miller) Dreher and her husband, Aaron both of the United States Navy stationed in Hawaii; great-grandchildren, Dylan Michael Robert Hart of St. Johnsville, NY, Genevive T. Hart of St. Johnsville, NY and McKenna R. Miller of Stratford, NY; in-laws, Alice Silvernail of Oppenheim, NY, and Doug Stowell and Pamela Lamphere of Oppenheim, NY; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was predeceased by former husband, Larry C. Stowell; her brothers, Richard McCann and his wife, Gloria, and Bruce McCann; and her in-laws, William Stowell and his wife, Doris, Charlie Stowell and his wife, Wilma, and Annette Nourse and her husband, Walt.

In keeping with family wishes, there will be no funeral services. A private family interment will be held in Brown Cemetery in Oppenheim, New York. The family is being cared for by Miller-Plonka Funeral Home, 30 Wolf Street, Dolgeville, New York.
