Ann F. Reardon Obituary

Ann F. Reardon, 77, of St. Johnsville, New York, passed away peacefully on Thursday morning, September 23, 2021 at Little Falls Hospital with her loving family by her side.

She was born on October 11, 1943 in Little Falls, New York and was the daughter of the late, Arthur and Mary (Miller) Reardon. Ann received her education at St. Mary's Academy in Little Falls, New York.

On March 4, 1961, Ann was united in marriage to Elwood N. Austin, Sr. in Little Falls, New York and he passed away on November 8, 1974 after 13 years of marriage. Ann then married Russell L. Luft, Sr. whom passed away on July 17, 1996. Ann was blessed to share time with her special life partner, James P. Edick, who passed away on October 23, 1998.

Ann was formerly employed with Daniel Green Shoe Company in Dolgeville, New York as a seamstress for several years. At one time, she also worked for Duofold and Allegro.

She was of the Lutheran faith and was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Little Falls, New York. Ann was also a faithful member and active participant of the American Legion, Post 31 Auxiliary and current Chaplin and Past President in Little Falls, NY, and the Herkimer County American Legion where she also served as Past President, the Little Falls Polish Club, Dolgeville Rod and Gun Club and the Red Hats Society.

In her spare time, Ann enjoyed sewing, crocheting, and needlepoint. She truly enjoyed life, staying busy and most importantly, spending time with her large, close-knit, family. Ann was a dedicated member of her community, a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, who will be truly missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her beloved children and their spouses and life partners, Elwood Ned Austin, Jr. and Patricia Hall of Fairfield, NY, Gary Austin of Peachtree, NC, Wendy and Russell Luft, Jr. of Eagle River, AK, Tina Austin and Larry "Juno" Sanders, Jr., of Oppenheim, NY, Connie and Michael "Mick" DeRocco of Reno NV, Lisa and George Siver of St. Johnsville, NY and Todd Austin and Vicky Battisti of St. Johnsville, NY; special grandchildren, Elwood "Little Ned" Austin, III, Timothy Austin, Brandy Burgess, Arthur "AJ" Austin, Jeremy Austin, Jacob Masle, Brandon Smith, Misty Talbot and Alisha Hogan; a sister, Catherine Sweet and her husband, Don of Little Falls, NY; the Edick Family; many great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews and cousins.

Ann was predeceased by husbands, Elwood Ned Austin, Sr. and Russell L. Luft, Sr., life partner, James P. Edick, Ellie Brado (son, Gary's life partner) and grandson, Terry Austin.

A graveside memorial service will be held on September 30, 2021 at 11 am at the Mohawk Cemetery where her life will be celebrated with family, friends, and fellow members of the American Legion, Post 31. A reception will follow at the American Legion, Post 31 in Little Falls, New York at 2 p.m. All are welcome to attend both the service and the reception.
