Amy M. (Brys) Goodman, 42, of the Town of Oppenheim, New York, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Monday evening, August 7, 2023 after a short illness.

She was born on February 24, 1981 in Little Falls, New York and is the daughter of Edward and Gloria (Bulluck) Brys. Amy attended Oppenheim-Ephratah Central School and graduated with the Class of 1999. While in school, Amy excelled in sports and had many friends. She then went on to attend Herkimer County Community College.

Amy was formerly married to Andrew Goodman for 12 years.

Amy was formerly employed as a Licensed Insurance Producer where she worked alongside her brother, Ed at his Allstate Agency in Schenectady, New York for many years.

She was of the Catholic Faith and was a former parishioner of St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church in Dolgeville, New York where she received her sacraments.

Amy enjoyed crocheting, knitting, riding four-wheelers and side by sides, and in the last several years, trips to the casino with her Mom. She loved spending time with her family. Amy will be remembered as a kind girl and a great friend. She will be missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her beloved parents at home, Ed and Gloria Brys of Oppenheim, NY; her brother and sister-in-law, Ed and Tammy (Manners) Brys of Rexford, NY; cherished nieces and nephew, Addison Brys, Anelise Brys and Alex Brys all of Rexford, NY; aunts and uncles, Stanley and Christine Brys of Salisbury, NY, Lori Taylor of Castleton, NY, Lawrence Bulluck and his wife, Rosemary of Stratford, NY, Joan Knapp of St. Johnsville, NY and Stacey Bulluck of Ilion, NY; several cousins and close friends.

Amy was predeceased by her paternal and maternal grandparents, and uncles and aunts, John Brys, Lawrence Taylor, Raymond and Anna Bulluck and Elaine Lamphere.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, August 16, 2023 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Miller-Plonka Funeral Home, 30 Wolf Street, Dolgeville, New York. A memorial service will be held immediately following the calling hours at 6 p.m. at also at the funeral home.

The family will also receive relatives and friends at a Celebration of Life Reception following the memorial service at 7 p.m. at the Dolgeville Volunteer Fire Department. All are welcome to attend.

The family would like to thank the members of the Oppenheim Volunteer Fire Department and ambulance services who assisted Amy during her time of need.
