Amber J. (Hopson) Jeffers Obituary

Amber J. (Hopson) Jeffers, 42, of Dolgeville, New York, passed away unexpectedly and peacefully on Friday evening, November 1, 2024, with her loving husband and children by her side at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, New York. For the last six months, Amber had suffered through several medical challenges and passed from natural causes.

She was born on December 7, 1981 in Schenectady, New York and is the daughter of Donald E. Hopson and the late, Nancy J. (Ausfeld) Hopson. Amber attended Dolgeville Central School and graduated with the Class of 2000.

On June 19, 2010, Amber was united in marriage to Keith G. Jeffers, Jr. at the Salisbury Covered Bridge in Salisbury Center, New York. The couple shared a marital union of 14 years and a total of 20 years together where they raised their three children in a loving and fun home.

Amber was currently employed at the Herkimer Diamond Mines and KOA Resort in Middleville, New York as an associate where she has worked for the last 5 years.

She was a member of the American Legion Post 920, Ladies Auxiliary in Ilion, New York. Amber enjoyed camping, amusement parks, butterflies, her dogs, and loved attending all of her children’s functions. Amber was a loving, caring, devoted wife, mother, daughter, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Amber is survived by her beloved husband, Keith G. Jeffers, Jr. at home; father, Donald E. Hopson, Dolgeville, NY; children, Dakota Jeffers, stationed with the United States Army at Fort Liberty, NC and her companion, Quincy Grahams, Madison Jeffers and Parker Jeffers, both of Dolgeville, NY; and Jonathan Kabris of Pierre, SD; grandson, Skaists Thomas Kabris of Pierre, SD; siblings, Chad Hopson and his wife, Katherine and Scott Hopson of all of Dolgeville, NY and Tina Hopson of Utica, NY; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Keith and Candace Jeffers, Sr. of Middleville, NY; several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; many special nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her mother, Nancy Hopson, paternal grandparents, Raymond and Marie Hopson, maternal grandparents, John and Genevieve Ausfeld, several aunts and uncles, and her dog, Emma.

A Celebration of Life Reception will be held on Saturday, November 9, 2024 from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Herkimer American Legion Post #38, 204 South Washington Street, Herkimer, New York 13350. All are welcome to greet the family and share in beautiful memories of Amber.
