Agnes G. (Belcher) Keyser Obituary

Agnes G. Keyser, 84, of the Dolgeville, New York (Town of Salisbury), passed away unexpectedly on Saturday evening, December 10, 2022 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Utica, New York. At the time of her passing, she was peacefully and comfortably surrounded by her beloved husband and children.

She was born on December 14, 1937 in the Town of Salisbury, New York and was the daughter of the late, Albert and Alice (Gardner) Belcher. Agnes attended Stratford Central School and graduated with the Class of 1956.

On August 1, 1959, Agnes was united in marriage to Robert W. Keyser at the Inghams Mills Baptist Church in the Town of Manheim, New York. The couple shared 63 years of marriage and raised their four children in a loving home.

Agnes was of the Methodist faith and was a dedicated member of the Stratford United Methodist Church. She was formerly employed by Dan Dee Donuts in Little Falls, NY, Griffith’s Fuels and lastly Daniel Greens in Dolgeville, NY. Bob and Agnes were also a local Rada Knives dealer to local area farmer’s and flea markets for many years.

She enjoyed cooking for her family and friends, crocheting and especially crocheting hats for newborns and volunteering her time to the Salisbury Volunteer Fire Department for their Lentin Fish Fry set-up on Thursday nights. Along with her husband, Bob, Agnes managed the Dolgeville Farmer’s for many years as well. A loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Agnes will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her husband, Robert W. Keyser at home; children, Valerie Hadden and her husband, Clifford of Little Falls, NY, Brian Keyser of Salisbury, NY, and Cathy Fletcher and her husband, Matthew of Whitesboro, NY; a son-in-law, Andy Hain of Painted Post, NY; grandchildren, Kristyn Hankey and her husband, Brandon of Little Falls, NY, August Chapman of Whitesboro, NY, Cannon Chapman of Whitesboro, NY, Alizah Fletcher & her fiancé Tyler Nicholas of Utica, NY, and Caleb Fletcher and his fiancée Anna Havener of Sherrill, NY; great-grandchildren, Aubriella, Jude, Jake, Jackson and Deegan; nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family; and several special friends, including Virginia Barker of Salisbury Center, NY.

Agnes was predeceased by her cherished daughter, Holly Keyser Hain who passed in 2010 and two brothers, Claude Belcher and Larry Belcher.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, December 15, 2022 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at Miller-Plonka Funeral Home, 30 Wolf Street, Dolgeville, New York. A funeral service will be held immediately following calling hours at 3 p.m. also at the funeral home with Pastor Mark Hediger. A private spring burial will held at Dibble Tuttle Cemetery in Salisbury, New York.
