Linda Lawrence Obituary

Linda A. (Darling) Lawrence, 60, of Richfield Springs, New York and formerly of Dolgeville, New York, passed away peacefully on Wednesday morning, January 9, 2019 at Cooperstown Center, after a courageous year-long battle with cancer. At the time of her passing, Linda's devoted sister, Donna was by her side.

She was born on December 30, 1958 in Little Falls, New York and was the daughter of the late Ralph and Rose (Covuoto) Darling. Linda was educated at Dolgeville Central School and graduated with the Class of 1978. She was of the Catholic Faith.

Linda was united in marriage to Richard Lawrence in Oppenheim, New York. Richard passed away in 2008.

In Linda's earlier years, she was employed for various area factories. Upon relocating to Florida, she found her true passion for caring for people, in which she decided to earn her Certified Nurses Aid certification, where she worked in area nursing homes. After returning to New York, Linda was last employed at Little Falls Hospital. She was known as a "singing CNA" and as a cheerful, energetic, compassionate person who offered much attention to her patients.

She loved to go to garage sales, do crafts especially quilling and loved to bake cookies. Anyone she knew was rewarded with huge cookie trays especially at Christmas. Linda also enjoyed going to the Jordanville Public Library to use the computer. She truly enjoyed her time spent with her granddaughters.

Her family was foremost in her life and her personality and generosity were her trademark. Linda was a loving daughter, sister, mother and grandmother and will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her two sons, Joseph Lawrence and his companion, Sara of Jordanville, NY and Andrew Lawrence and his companion, Victoria of Little Falls, NY; three cherished granddaughters, Mackalya, Mackenzie and Margaret; a brother, Gerald Darling and his wife, Lynne of Dolgeville, NY; a sister, Donna LaBruzzo, who devoted herself to her sister's care for the last year, and her companion, Vince Mikhula of Richfield Springs, NY; her long time companion, Michael Bobak of Cullen, NY; a brother and sister in law, Mark Lawrence and his wife, Dawn of Florida; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great nephews.

Linda was predeceased by her parents and husband.
