Adriana Gene Varvaro

Adriana Gene Varvaro, “Boogie Girl”, age 6, of Salisbury, beloved daughter of Mike and Patti Varvaro, went to be with the angels early Saturday morning, January 3, 2009, after a fire at home.
Adriana was born on December 7, 2002 in New Hartford, NY. She was a kindergartner in Mrs. Tangorra’s class at Dolgeville Elementary School.
Adriana was involved in many activities at school and in her community. She was a very talented dancer and loved to perform at dance recitals and put on concerts for her family. She especially liked doing karaoke with her cousin, Nicoleoeoeo. Adriana was in her fourth year of dance class at Dance Etc. in Herkimer. She was well-known for her chicken dance that would always bring smiles to the faces of her family. She was a Brownie who earned every badge she could and was known for selling the most for fundraisers. Adriana enjoyed playing soccer, cooking with Grandma and Papa, baking with her Mommy, riding her four-wheeler with her Daddy, and spending time with her family. The most important part of Adriana’s life is that she touched every soul she came in contact with. She will be remembered as a kind little girl whose enthusiasm for life was contagious. She was loved deeply by her parents and will be sorely missed by all that knew her.
She is survived by her parents, Michael and Patricia (Hunt) Varvaro of Salisbury; her maternal grandparents, Ron and Sharon Hulbert of Dolgeville; paternal grandparents, Harry and Phyllis Foster of Dolgeville; great-maternal grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. Thomas Smith, Sr. of Rockwood, and Floradell Hunt of Dolgeville; great-paternal grandparents, Harry and Betty Foster of Dolgeville; her uncles, Gene Hunt and Terri Povec, Tony Varvaro, Richard Link, Paul Link, all of Dolgeville: her aunt, Lisa Owens and her husband Bill of Ilion; a very special cousin for whom Adriana looked up to and considered her hero, Nicole Hunt; cousins, Ciera Owens, Dakota Owens, Derrick Link, Brandon Link, Faith Varvaro; special family members, Dale and Stella Lanphere, of Dolgeville, Karla Lanphere and Jay Blowers of Dolgeville, Alexa Blowers, A.J. Blowers, Shannon Heafey, Brenden Heafey, Kyle and Becky Thomas and their children of Stratford, and Courtney and Mackenzie Miller of Stratford; special play friends, Hunter Stone, Emily Miller and Samantha Weber; many great-aunts, great- uncles and cousins. She also leaves many close friends that were like family to her. She was predeceased by her maternal grandfather, Gene Hunt, her great-maternal grandfather, Charles Hunt, and great-paternal grandmother, Marie Bates.
Funeral services for Adriana will be held on Wednesday, January 7, 2009 at 11 a.m. at Miller-Plonka Funeral Home, 30 Wolf St., Dolgeville, NY, with Pastor John Reams officiating. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, January 6, 2009 from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Due to the loss of their home, the family has asked in lieu of flowers, to make donations to the family. Donation can be sent to the home of Ron and Sharon Hulbert, 9 Rundell St., Dolgeville, NY 13329. Envelopes will also be available at the funeral home.
