Kathy S. Willis Obituary

Kathy S. Willis, 71, of Dolgeville, New York, passed away peacefully on Wednesday morning, March 27, 2024 at Little Falls Hospital in Little Falls, New York.

She was born on April 18, 1952 in Huntington, New York and was the daughter of the late Peter and Ada (Zoll) Willis. Kathy attended Patchogue High School and graduated with the Class of 1970. She furthered her studies at Chautauqua BOCES and earned her Licensed Practical Nurse degree. She pursued her education and earned her Bachelor’s degree at Fulton Montgomery Community College as a Registered Nurse.

Kathy’s nursing career began at Chautauqua County Home as an LPN, she then moved to Dolgeville, New York and obtained a career as a RN for the Herkimer County Department of Public Health. Her next step in her career, Kathy worked for Little Falls Hospital, 3rd Floor and the Little Falls Hospital 4th Floor Nursing Home area as nursing supervisor. Her last place of employment was an LPN Instructor for the Herkimer County BOCES program until her retirement in 2016.

In her spare time, Kathy loved to read, draw, travel and caring for her seven cats. She enjoyed spending time with her family and had a special relationship with her daughter, Nikki.

She is survived by her daughter, Nichole R. Musella of Dolgeville, NY; her siblings, Maryellen Bailey of Greeleyville, SC, Patricia Davis of Mohawk, NY, Lynn O’Brien of Little Falls, NY, Gail Tubbs of Little Falls, NY, Peter Willis and his wife, Diana of Andrews, SC; a brother-in-law, Todd Harter of Mohawk, NY; a sister-in-law, Tina Willis of FL; many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Kathy was predeceased by her parents; a beloved and significant, life-long friend, Stephanie Kogut; two brothers, Todd Willis and David Willis; a sister, Elizabeth Harter; and brother-in-law, David Tubbs.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, April 4, 2024 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. with Rev. Robert Wollaber officiating, at Miller-Plonka Funeral Home, 30 Wolf Street, Dolgeville, New York 13329, Cremations and Funerals, Locally Owned and Family Operated. The services are being held in conjunction with Roberts Funeral Home of Dolgeville, New York.
